a3 has been invited to provide a choreographer and drama coach to work with the students and teachers at Hartwell Primary School to prepare them for their biennial school productions in 2011 (Aladdin Junior), 2013 (Peter Pan) and 2013 (Beauty and the Beast Jr).

a3 works with the school to set up a rehearsal schedule that has seen our choreographer, Jessica, work with each year level once a fortnight to prepare a featured performance item, as well as movement and staging for solo items. Additionally, a3 drama coaches Kass and Marc have rehearsed with the students in lead roles once a week on a range of areas including character development, line learning, staging and performance skills.

On each occasion the school has split the 600 students into two casts and a3 has rehearsed the two casts simultaneously right up until the dress rehearsals. At the end of the semester each cast participate in two full run throughs of the show at school, a dress rehearsal at the performance venue and then one performance each over two nights at the George Wood Performing Arts Centre at the Yarra Valley Grammar School complete with full costumes and staging.

"I just wanted to pass on a huge THANK YOU for all of the amazing work you did with our students. I know that they got so much out of the whole experience, so many of them are saying that it was the best thing that they have done in their entire lives. And I just love the fact that many of the students who don't usually shine during classroom subjects, got a chance to be real stars. Many of the parents are also saying that it was the best school production they have seen. You were both brilliant with the kids and really inspired them to do their best.

I was able to learn so much from you... and the staff are saying that they enjoyed the whole journey. I would absolutely love to work with you over the next 2 years and then again for our next school production."
